Winslow to Scotchfort 26km
& Seacow Pond to North Cape and back 20km
After a quick breakfast and a lengthy chat at the B&B, we set off from Winslow in good spirits. Once again we set off on the Confederation Trail.
We only had 20 odd kilometers to ride to get to Eddy’s place in Scotchfort where we left our car over a week ago. As a thank you, we took Eddy out for lunch. He drove and took us to a nearby restaurant in Mount Stewart.
After lunch we packed up the car and were on our way.
Retracing a lot of the route we took on the bikes just days earlier, we stopped in New Glasgow at the Cheeselady’s for some gouda, fresh bread and honey butter.
Then we drove up to North Rustico to see the rotating house.
After that we went through Summerside and then north to Tignish. At the CO-OP we bought a few more things for our supper and then carried on to the Island’s End Motel in Seacow Pond. It was just after 6pm by this time and we still wanted to see the lighthouse at North Cape so we hopped on the bikes and got going.
It didn’t take us long to ride to North Cape and once we got there we rode the nature trail down the west side to Elephant Rock.
After toodling around on the boardwalk…
…we went back to the Cape to look around.
As dusk set in we decided to head home, so we put our lights on and made the final push.
We arrived back at the motel just before 8pm. We had a late supper and then found–of all things–hockey on TV.
