Scotchfort to Cable Head : 36km
Sunny with some clouds. 17C.
We stopped near the trail to have some breakfast before we carried on to Eddy’s place in Scotchfort to park the car.
Eddy was expecting us and graciously showed us the path through his yard that intersects the Confederation Trail.
After saying thanks and good-bye we were finally away on our bikes. We rode east leaving a hungry crowd of mosquitoes in our wake. Immediately we were surrounded by beautiful scenery.
Where we were starting from is on the eastern part of the island, also known as Points East. We passed through Mount Stewart and stopped for a break in Morell.
From there until St. Peters the trail hugged the shoreline of St. Peters Bay.
We were all starting to feel our legs tiring so we slowed down to soak in the view.
Once we arrived in town the folks at the tourist information centre were able to help us secure a place to stay for the night. We were hungry again and we had some time to kill so we went to Rick’s Fish and Chips for a late lunch.
We sat for awhile in the sun on the patio. I guess they forgot about us, but when they remembered to serve us, we got some delicious food placed in front of us.
We had one final push to our B&B and it involved a short but steep hill. Once we got settled in the room, we really got settled.
After some serious problem solving we finally figured out our route for the next few days and more importantly, we figured out where we will be sleeping.
Details to come.
