Summer 2015: The Family Route

Day 12: Moncton – Amherst – Parrsboro – Five Islands, Nova Scotia (by car).
Monday, August 31.
Sunny, warm and windy. 26C.

We took the slow road through Sackville – where my maternal Grandfather went to university – before  crossing over into Nova Scotia.

In Amherst we stopped at a small market value some lunch supplies and got directions to the bike shop where we picked up a new tire for my bike. We made a picnic at River Hebert before driving on to Parrsboro.

Our destination today was my Aunt and Uncle’s cottage in Lower Five Islands and we arrived there mid-afternoon.

After a nice supper my Uncle – Bill Nye – took me down to the salt flats at low tide.

We are excited to be spending a couple of days here.
